FAQ's: Editing Your Web Site

1) Go to www.net2ftp.com

On the browser window that appears (see picture below) enter your account details in the corresponding fields.

1. your ftp address (ftp.yourwebsitename.com) as provided by your webmaster
2. your username and
3. your password

then click on the login button

2) On the screen that appears, click on public_html (see picture below). This will open the root folder of your web site (where all the pages and files of your web site are stored).

3) In the public_html root, select a page you want to edit in the list that appears. For example, you may want to edit the index page of your web site (your web site home page). To do this, go to index.html on the list and click on edit at the right hand side of the line (see image below).  This will launch the file editor programme.

4)On the file editor screen (see picture below), go to the drop list at the top left hand corner. Click on the drop down list and select Tiny MCE.

5) This action will launch the TinyMCE Editor, in case you are not a professional web site designer.

You can now edit any desired section of your web site using the editing tools on the editor and then click on the save button on the top left hand corner of your browser window to save the changes you have made.

When you are done with editing a particular page, click on the back arrow on the top left hand side of your browser window to go back to your web site root and follow ftrom step 3 to select a different page you wish to edit.

5) Once you are done with editing your web site, click on the log out button on the top right hand corner of your browser window to exit your ftp account.
